For founders and executives

For the meetings that don’t belong in a shared drive.

Board prep, hiring debriefs, deal calls. Safeclip records and writes them up on your own computer, so the notes don’t land in a team workspace or a vendor’s cloud.

Where it fits

Board and investor prep

Talk the story through on a voice note. Then Ask your past notes what you told the board last quarter, and get the passage back.

Hiring and hard conversations

Interview debriefs and difficult one-on-ones, summarized for you alone. There is no team workspace for them to end up in.

M&A and fundraising calls

Deal calls under NDA, transcribed on your computer, with decisions and next steps pulled out. Keep each deal in its own client space (Founding License).

Thinking out loud

Voice notes on a walk become searchable notes. The ideas you aren’t ready to share stay with you.

How it works

  1. 01

    Record

Start from the app, or from its icon in the menu bar or system tray. On a Mac, Safeclip can notice a call starting and ask; on Windows and Linux it spots Zoom.

  2. 02

    Transcribe

Whisper transcribes on your computer. No bot joins the call, and the audio isn’t uploaded.

  3. 03

    Get the note

A local model writes the summary, decisions and action items. Edit it, copy it, or export Markdown.

  4. 04

    Ask later

Months on, Ask what was agreed and with whom. Ask runs on the local model by default.

Runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. Mac needs Apple Silicon. Transcription is slower on Windows and Linux, where it runs on the CPU, and calendar features are macOS only for now. English only today. Platform details →

What leaves your computer, and what doesn't.

Meeting recordings, transcripts and notes stay on your computer. They are not sent to Safeclip. Here is the short version of what does go over the internet.

Stays on your computer

  • Recordings and audio
  • Transcripts and notes
  • Ask, on the local model
  • Clips, client spaces and calendar events

Leaves your computer

  • Update checks, to Safeclip
  • Sign-in and a license check at launch and daily, only if you sign in for Founding
  • Model downloads from Hugging Face and GitHub, including the local search model if you turn on Search by meaning
  • Cloud Ask, only if you turn it on with your own key
  • Transcripts of files an AI assistant you connect asks for, and your library’s transcripts and notes only if you let it read them
  • Media from a link you paste, fetched from that site

No analytics or crash reporting in the app. Read the full list →

Questions founders ask

Can my team see my notes?

No. Safeclip is a one-person app on your computer. There is no shared workspace and no live collaboration. To share a note, copy or export it and send it the way you choose. If your team needs a shared meeting workspace, a cloud note-taker is the better fit.

Does it work on my company’s Windows laptop?

Yes, on Windows 10 or 11 (x64). Transcription runs on the CPU there, so it is slower than on an Apple Silicon Mac. Your IT team can check every connection the app makes against our published list, and installing it may need their approval.

Does it read my calendar?

On a Mac, if you allow it, Safeclip reads events through macOS Calendar to name recordings and notice meetings. The events stay on your computer. Calendar features are not on Windows or Linux today.

Does it join my calls as a bot?

No. Safeclip records on your computer: your microphone, plus the call’s audio from your speakers or headphones. No bot or extra participant joins the meeting, and the call app doesn’t announce that you are recording. People on the call won’t know unless you tell them, or unless they see Safeclip on a screen you share.

Do I need to tell people I’m recording?

It is good practice, and in many places it is the law. Consent rules vary by country and state: some require everyone’s permission, some only one person’s. Check the law where you and the other people are.

Safeclip shows a consent reminder when a meeting is detected and on screen while you record. It is on by default if you set up Safeclip for therapy or legal work, and you can turn it on in Settings.
