How it works

Recording, transcription and notes run on your computer. Session audio and notes are not sent to Safeclip.

    Capture

    Record a voice note or a meeting, drop in a file, or paste a link. You can also start or stop from the menu bar.

  2. 02

    Transcribe as you speak

    During a live meeting, words appear on screen in short chunks as you record. Whisper runs on your computer. The audio is not uploaded. English only for now.

  3. 03

    Summarize and organize

    A local model writes the notes, tags the topics and finds the moments worth keeping. Ask answers questions across your whole library.

  4. 04

    Export

    Audiograms, notes, and full transcripts exported to your disk. TXT, SRT, VTT, or a captioned clip file.

Before you start

System requirements

Safeclip runs on your computer. Here is what it needs.

Desktop app

  • macOS 14 or later on Apple SiliconM1 or newer. Intel Macs are not supported. In 0.1.0, local AI notes and Ask need macOS 26. The next update brings them to macOS 13.
  • Windows 10 or 11, or Linuxx64. Linux: Ubuntu 22.04 or newer. Transcription runs on the CPU, so it is slower than on a Mac.
  • 16 GB RAM minimum32 GB recommended

Local AI, included

Safeclip downloads its on-device models from Hugging Face the first time you open it. No terminal, no extra installs. After that, what you say is transcribed on your computer.
