2. Description of Service
Safeclip is a local-first, privacy-focused AI-powered platform that allows users to upload, process, and create clips from audio and video content. The service includes transcription, highlight detection, and audiogram generation capabilities. All processing happens locally on your infrastructure using open-source tools (Whisper, Ollama).
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
Account creation is optional. You may use Safeclip without creating an account, though some features may require authentication. If you choose to create an account, you may provide an email address, wallet address, or both. All account information is optional.
3.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that violates any laws or regulations
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Upload content that is defamatory, harassing, abusive, or harmful
- Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
- Use automated systems to access the service without permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
5. Content Ownership and License
5.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account.
5.2 Generated Content
Clips, transcriptions, audiograms, and other content generated by our Service are owned by you. You are free to use, modify, and distribute such content as you see fit, subject to any third-party rights in the original source material.
5.3 Third-Party Content
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process and create clips from any content you upload or provide URLs for. We are not responsible for any copyright infringement or other violations that may result from your use of third-party content.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Safeclip, LLC and protected by copyright and trademark laws. The software is provided under the MIT License, which allows you to use, modify, and distribute it subject to the license terms.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your information. In summary: we collect minimal data, process everything locally, and do not share your data with third parties.
8. Local-First Architecture
Safeclip is designed to run on your infrastructure. You are responsible for:
- Setting up and maintaining your own servers and databases
- Securing your infrastructure and data
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Backing up your data
We are not responsible for data loss, security breaches, or any issues arising from your infrastructure setup or maintenance.
9. Service Availability
Since Safeclip runs on your infrastructure, service availability depends on your setup. We strive to provide reliable software, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. You are responsible for maintaining your own infrastructure.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFECLIP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

You may terminate your account and access to the Service at any time by deleting your account through the application interface. We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
