After the first model download, Whisper works offline. Apple Silicon only. Session audio and notes stay on your machine. If you connect your own cloud AI key, transcript text is sent to that provider.

Transcribe on this Mac
After the first model download, Whisper runs on your Mac with no connection. The installer is an Apple Silicon .dmg. There is no Intel build.

Notes, clips, audiograms
A local model can draft a summary and pull quotes. In 0.1.0 that local model needs macOS 26. Trim a line and export a captioned clip or a waveform audiogram to disk.
Session audio and notes stay on your machine. If you connect your own cloud AI key, transcript excerpts you choose to send go to that provider.

The same notes library runs on Windows x64 and Linux x64. Those builds transcribe on the CPU. We do not claim GPU acceleration there. Windows · Linux
